Morbidelli and Binder come through Q1 in Jerez

The two will now compete for pole position at the Spanish Grand Prix

Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) recorded a 1:36.916 to leave him nearly half a second clear of the field to secure his place in Q2 at the Spanish GP in Jerez. The Italian will be joined by Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) whose early flying lap was enough to hold off the likes of Repsol Honda duo Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez, as well as teammate Miguel Oliveira.

The session's two quickest riders can now turn their attention to the battle for pole in Q2, which is up next at Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto.
