Matsuyama to replace Kunii at Mugello

The Junior Talent Team rider goes from wildcard to replacement rider this weekend, with Yuki Kunii sidelined due to injury

Two weeks on from making his Moto3™ World Championship debut as a wildcard at Le Mans with Honda Team Asia, Takuma Matsuyama will return to the fray at Mugello for the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley, this time as a replacement rider.

Honda Team Asia rider Yuki Kunii sadly crashed and broke his collarbone during Q1 at the French GP, side-lining him from both that race and the next event. Matsuyama will therefore step in at Mugello to gain more World Championship experience with the same Honda Team Asia he joined on track at Le Mans. Everyone at the Junior Talent Team wishes Kunii a speedy recovery, as well as the best of luck to Matsuyama for the weekend ahead.
