Season so far: Catalan Grand Prix

KTM bounced back in fine style as Miguel Oliveira clinched victory with Fabio Quartararo again in the headlines

Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) returned to winning ways thanks to a perfect performance in a scintillating Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya, as just 0.175s split the race winner and second place Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) at the finish line. Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) was promoted to P3 at the end of the race as World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) was handed a three-second penalty for a shortcut at Turns 1 and 2, while the Frenchman also encounters a strange issue with his leathers.

WHAT HAPPENED WITH QUARTARARO'S LEATHERS?

Yet more drama for the Frenchman as his race was derailed by his leathers unzipping in the closing stages. Fabio Quartararo was the huge favourite to win the Catalan Grand Prix and it was all going swimmingly for the 22-year-old before one of the strangest MotoGP™ moments in recent memory took place.

MotoGP™ 20 MINUTE RACE HIGHLIGHTS

Sit down and enjoy comprehensive highlights of the Catalan Grand Prix as Miguel Oliveira put to bed KTM's rocky start to 2021. The Portuguese rider was pushed all the way by Johann Zarco in the final few laps but eventually held on for the third win of his MotoGP™ career.

HRC HIT ROCK BOTTOM

It was a day to forget for Honda as Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro both crashed out and they didn't shrug away from criticising the most successful brand in premier class history. Barcelona was certainly a low point for HRC as they look to improve the RC213V and drag themselves back up to the front.

MILLER AND MARQUEZ'S Q1 COMEDY

He's picked various targets since his return - Joan Mir, Maverick Viñales and now Jack Miller. One week on from Viñales' frustration being evident at the eight-time World Champion following him around Mugello, the Australian simply laughed it off by asking the Spaniard how much the tow was worth.
