Savadori withdraws from British GP through injury

Due to his physical condition, the Aprilia rider won’t take part in the remainder of the weekend at Silverstone

Aprilia Racing Team Gresini’s Lorenzo Savadori has withdrawn from the remainder of the Monster Energy British Grand Prix due to his physical condition, as the Italian continues to suffer from his injury picked up at the Styrian GP.

The 28-year-old was involved in a crash with Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) that brought out the red flags at the first 2021 Red Bull Ring instalment, in which Savadori suffered a broken ankle. On Monday August 9th, the Aprilia man went under the knife in Italy to fix the broken ankle but, after riding at Silverstone on Friday, he was withdrawn from the remainder of the weekend to focus on returning to full fitness for the Aragon Grand Prix in two weeks' time.
