Remy Gardner: Moto2™ World Champion in Valencia if…

The Australian has his second match point this weekend at the Valencia GP – here are the results he needs to take the title

A dramatic Sunday at the Brembo Algarve Grand Prix saw Moto2™ Championship leader Remy Gardner (Red Bull KTM Ajo) extend his title advantage over teammate Raul Fernandez to 23 points heading into the season finale. It puts one hand on the trophy for the Australian, but it isn't game over just yet as the Motul Valencia Grand Prix hosts the intermediate class' second match point.

Taking that significant advantage to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, this is what Gardner needs to happen in order to seal the 2021 Moto2™ World Championship title:

- Record a top 13 finish
- Record a finish outside the top 13 and Raul Fernandez does not win

Contrarily, Fernandez isn't completely out of the running. If he has to have any hope of becoming the season's second rookie Champion, then he must win and hope that Gardner finishes 14th or worst.

Tune into the Moto2™ race on Sunday at 12:20 local time (GMT+0)!
