Lowes a second clear in mixed conditions

The British rider switched to slicks late in FP1; Roberts the only rider within two seconds of his pace

Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) dominated Moto2™ FP1 proceedings at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia after setting a 1:44.439 in mixed conditions, with American Joe Roberts (Italtrans Racing Team) 1.043s behind his British counterpart in second place. Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) was third quickest on Friday morning, the Italian was 2.4s off his teammate’s pace, with Lowes switching to slick tyres late on to set the quickest time of the morning.

Qatar GP race winner Celestino Vietti (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) and Jake Dixon (Inde GASGAS Aspar Team) rounded out the fastest five riders in the tricky conditions, the duo over two and a half seconds down on Lowes.
