Bagnaia earns FP4 bragging rights over Quartararo

The battle for MotoGP™ supremacy at the Spanish GP continues to be a closely-fought one between big guns Bagnaia and Quartararo

The Ducati Lenovo Team’s Francesco Bagnaia will go into qualifying for the Gran Premio Red Bull de España off the back of another fastest lap, this time a 1:37.517 in FP4. Like in the day’s earlier session, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team), who experimented with hard Michelin rear tyre on his first run, was slightly slower by 0.083 seconds.

Joan Mir (Team SUZUKI ECSTAR), who has also already booked his place in Q2, had a tour through the gravel at the Lorenzo Corner (Turn 13) in the 12th minute. However, that was a positive outcome considering he had managed a superb save when the front of his GSX-RR started to tuck under brakes.

The Spaniard would set a 1:37.762 right at the end of the session which left him third on the timesheet, ahead of Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) and Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), although those two riders are going into Q1.

Can Quartararo make it five pole positions in a row at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto? Find out next!
