Ivan Moreno, from Cadiz in Andalucia, Spain, was 16 before he entered his first road race, the Serie600 class in the fourth round of the Andalucian championship in 2005. He finished fourth his first time out, and in the last round of the championship he won his first race from pole. Moreno then competed in the CEV Buckler (Spanish) Championship for a few years, finishing fifth in 2009. That same year he won the European Supersport Junior Championship. Moreno made the switch to the Spanish Moto2 championship in 2010 and 2011 where he finished sixth and seventh respectively. The 2012 season sees him participate in the Moto3 category with the Andalucia JHK Laglisse team aboard an FTR Honda.
