Quotes from the front row

Toni Elias (1st): "Today was my fifth pole in a row, but this was the most difficult because I put a very soft tyre on an the bike was moving around a lot. Even so, things have worked out and I set my best time on the last lap. I have a good set-up for the race although it will be difficult to escape."

Sebastian Porto (2nd): "I could have gone even faster but the bike got out of shape in a hard braking zone and I lost my chance. I would have liked to have been on pole but I always knew it would be difficult because the Aprilias always put a soft tyre on at the end of the session. In any case, a front row start is fine because we have a good set-up for the race."

Franco Battaini (3rd) : "We have sorted out the set-up quickly using the data from last year – sometimes experience counts! I was held up by some riders on the last lap but anyway, the front row is great for us."

Randy De Puniet (4th) : "Mathematically I can still win the title but really my target is to finish in the top three in the championship and I will be looking to achieve that with a podium finish tomorrow. Next year I should be pushing for the title from the first race."
