Better conditions sees pace increase at Jerez

The second day of Moto2™ and Moto3™ testing is underway at Jerez, with the riders enjoying warmer conditions on Wednesday so far.

With few clouds overhead and the Andalucian sunshine accompanying the riders the pace was sharp in the opening sessions on the second day of the test.

In the first two Moto2 sessions of the day Sam Lowes set the pace, with a rapid 1’42.362 lap on his Speed Up Racing machine in the second session. That lap was well under pole record lap for the circuit and put the Englishman more than 0.3s ahead of his closest rival in the session.

Meanwhile in Moto3 rookie Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0.0) set the pace in the smaller category’s first session on Wednesday, the young French talent lapping in 1’46.435, over half a second ahead of his nearest rival.

In the smaller class Efren Vazquez crashed after sitting out Tuesday’s action due to an accident sustained last week in Valencia. However, despite carrying a foot injury the tough Spaniard plans to continue testing on Wednesday afternoon.

The test will conclude after another full day on Thursday.
