British Talent Team rider John McPhee had an impressive first day on track at Termas de Rio Hondo in Argentina, ending the day in P4 on combined timesheets with a best of 1:50.940.
McPhee began the day in tenth in FP1 and then topped the timesheets for some time in FP2, before a late rush saw him pushed down to fourth - only 0.009 off P3. The Scot did 31 laps on Day 1.
After a podium first time out in Qatar, the BTT rider is aiming high again in Argentina – with Friday a great start to what can be a challenging weekend of slowly improving grip. Next up is FP3, which gets underway on Saturday at 9:00am local time (GMT -3), before qualifying at 12:35.
John McPhee, P4: "I'm happy overall with Day 1 here in Argentina. The track was dirty as expected so we didn't make any changes with setup and focused mainly on race runs. I've done a lot of laps with the hard rear tyre and I'm feeling comfortable on the bike."
