Guide to Argentina Moto2™ race

Everything you need to know ahead of the Moto2™ race at the Gran Premio Red Bull de la República Argentina.

The Moto2™ race at the Termas de Rio Hondo consists of 23 laps around the 4.8 km circuit, and is due to start at 14:20 local time:

•    Johann Zarco starts from pole for the second time in the Moto2 class; his other was at Silverstone last year. He has had seven podium finishes since moving up to the Moto2 class but as yet has not stood on the top step.

•    Tito Rabat is in second place on the grid – continuing his record of front row starts at all three races so far in 2015. Rabat, who won the Moto2 race in Argentina last year, will be aiming to get back onto the top step of the podium for the first time since he won at Misano last year.

•    Thomas Luthi is in third place on the grid, his first front row start since the Japanese GP last year, which was a race that he went on to win.

•    Sam Lowes is in fourth place on the grid; the first time this year he has not qualified on the front row. Following his win in Austin, Lowes will be aiming to become the first British rider to take back-to-back Moto2 wins since Scott Redding in 2013.

•    Championship leader Alex Rins is in fifth place on the grid in only his third race in his rookie season in the Moto2 class. Rins is the only rider to finish in the top four in both of the opening two Moto2 races of the 2015 season.

•    Taking the final place on the second row is Jonas Folger, who won the opening Moto2 race of the year in Qatar.
