Vazquez: “Our target is to stay amongst the front group”

Leopard Racing’s Efren Vazquez is hoping once more to be fighting for the race win in front of his home fans in Jerez.

Vazquez is currently 2nd in the Moto3™ World Championship standings, 16 points behind his teammate Danny Kent, after scoring his second podium of the season in Argentina.

Efren Vazquez:
“Well, we arrived in Jerez, which of course is my home grand prix, with even more confidence than for the first races where we’ve already achieved strong results in each of them and due to that fact we’re second in the championship standings. Although, in Jerez we’ll try and do our best to continue in the same way like during the first Grand Prix, to try to get an even better rhythm for the race. Of course our target is to stay amongst the front group throughout the championship but as for this race weekend we’ll see how the weather is as well as the feeling with the bike, because during preseason tests we missed many laps there due to my ankle injury, but hopefully everything is fine. So for this finally I really look forward to race in front of my home crowd this weekend, which is always something very special, and I’ll try to take as many possible points from this race.”
