Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing’s Tito Rabat sets the fastest time in FP1 as he looks to kick-start his season in Jerez.

Reigning Moto2™ World Champion Tito Rabat impressed during FP1, lapping consistently and setting a 1’43.198, less than 0.5 seconds off Stefan Bradl’s pole record from 2011.

Speed Up Racing’s Sam Lowes finished just 0.136s behind the Spaniard in second, with Simone Corsi (+0.0170s) on the Athina Forward Racing Kalex completing the provisional front row.

Jonas Folger (+0.242s) showed good pace during the session, but had to settle for fourth. The current Championship leader, Ajo Motorsports Johann Zarco (+0.250s), ended the session in fifth just ahead of Sandro Cortese (+0.265s) on the Dynavolt Intact GP Kalex.

Julian Simon (7th), Xavier Simeon (8th), and Lorenzo Baldassarri (9th) were next on the timesheets, with Axel Pons returning from injury to claim tenth for his AGR Team.
