Vazquez: “Tomorrow we just plan small steps”

Leopard Racing's experienced Efren Vazquez leads Moto3™ practice at the Gran Premio bwin de España on Friday.

Cooler morning conditions suited Leopard Racing’s Efren Vazquez as the Basque rider set a 1’47.088, the fastest time of Friday. He was unable to improve on his time in FP2 as the wind began to pick up which unsettled him. His FP2 time was half a second slower than his morning pace, but still quick enough for fourth in the session.

Vazquez has two podiums from three race starts this weekend and will be aiming to get his first win of the season and start putting pressure on teammate Danny Kent, who currently leads the Moto3™ Championship.

Efren Vazquez:
“Of course this was a great day for us because to start with the fastest lap time after the first free practice sessions into the weekend is always good and it also gives an extra boost. But most important is the rhythm I got for this conditions and the track. Also the feeling with the bike is already on a high level so for tomorrow we just plan small steps in terms of setting before we try and do our best during that much important qualifying practice.”
