Marquez Blog: Hitting targets

Marquez Blog: Hitting targets

I have to congratulate Jorge for the race. Even if I had been at my best, I don’t think I would’ve been able to keep up with his pace.

In his official blog for the reigning MotoGP™ World Champion Marc Marquez gives us his thoughts on the Spanish GP and Jerez test:

Hey everybody!

I’m writing to you after some very intense and busy days in Jerez.

Yesterday we tested but didn’t complete a full day, HRC had brought some items they needed some valuable feedback on. Then we spent the afternoon shooting with our Repsol colleagues and with the whole team. We had a great time and you’ll see the results soon.

The weekend was really good. When we got to Jerez, we still had to see how I felt because of my little finger injury, but the GP went really well, and we achieved our goals.

We’ve snatched some points from the leader, and there’s still a long season ahead. Now, there are some different races around Europe, and we’re going to give it our all at each one. I already said at the beginning of the season that this year wasn’t going to be like the last. I’m sure the fans will appreciate it because they’re going to see a really tight and exciting World Championship for sure.

I have to congratulate Jorge for the race he had. Even if I had been at my best, I don’t think I would’ve been able to keep up with his pace. He had an amazing weekend from the first day. It was a well-deserved victory.

What’s incredible is the atmosphere of this GP. They told me that there were more than 120,000 spectators at the track. It’s one of the most special Grands Prix events of the World Championship, as it is the case year after year, and it’s thanks to all of you.

My brother Álex finished ninth in Moto2™. He’s learning and progressing little by little, making a name for himself in the category. I’m really proud of his work.

Now it’s time for a few days of rest, and they’ll help us to keep working and to be prepared for the French GP.

Question of the week

Have you ever thought, in the future, of racing in Dakar on the bike? Question from Anabel Fernandez Benavides

Hi Anabel!

Dakar is a competition that I follow closely, and it’s very impressive and fascinating. I also have a good relationship with riders like Joan Barreda, Marc Coma, Laia Sans…and I tip my hat to them. But I don’t think that I’ll ever do it. It’s a competition I really respect. It’s very commendable what they do, but I can’t see myself doing it.

Speak to you soon!
