Bastianini: 'It was not an easy race'

Gresini Racing Team Moto3 racer Enea Bastianini took a well-deserved second place finish in the Grand Prix at Le Mans.

The 17-year-old rider from Rimini completed an all-Italian podium crossing the line behind winner Romano Fenati and ahead of third-placed Francesco Bagnaia.

Bastianini: “It was not an easy race: starting back I had to push hard to make up positions and therefore the tyres went down a lot. On the penultimate lap I was in the fight for the victory, but I lost control of the rear, losing two positions. Obviously in the last lap the other riders pushed really hard and it was difficult to recover positions, so all in all I’m satisfied with second place; it’s a good result for me and for the team. In the last two races we had some ups and downs, but during the Jerez test we were able to solve our problems: now my front end feeling is improved and I can ride really well my bike. I believe that from now on we can be able to be more consistent”.
