Kent: 'We’re here to win the championship'

Leopard Racing’s Danny Kent fought through the entire Moto3 field to cross the line in fourth place at the #FrenchGP.

Thanks to a great start and level-headed race tactics, Kent stormed in to the points & further secured his place at the top of the champonship.

Kent: "This fourth place feels like a victory because we were starting down on the grid in P31. We knew it would be a tough race but I managed the opening laps very well and as soon I got my rhythm I was able to make a great recovery and step by step I came closer to the front. But during this stage I pushed my rear tyre pretty much to catch the group in front of me.

"If we had a good qualifying yesterday I think I had the pace to pull away like I did in Austin and Argentina last month. But with today’s fourth place we gained much valuable points for the championship and most important we could open the gap to a 37 points lead. I think we can be happy with the outcome of this weekend. I didn’t realize that Efren crashed out of the race but saw Fabio also crashing.

"After that I immediately switched my mind to think about the championship even though I saw a small change for a podium during the final laps. After this strong start into the series we’re definitely here to win the championship. Finally thanks to my team and all sponsors because Le Mans was another great weekend to work with them.”
