Simeon: “We are ready to fight”

Xavier Simeon expects to be battling for a podium art Mugello after recovering from the ankle injury he sustained at Le Mans.

Xavier Simeon, currently eighth in the overall standings with 39 points, has recovered well from the left ankle injury following the crash during free practice in Le Mans, and hopes to be back in the fight for the podium on a track that on paper suits well to the set-up of his Kalex.

Xavier Simeon:
“At Mugello we expect another hard fought race, as always! However, we are ready to fight: in these days I could rest and I’m sure that my left ankle, though not yet one hundred percent, won’t give me any problems when riding. I’m feeling very comfortable with the bike and even though in Le Mans I struggled a bit to get a good pace in the early stages of the race, at Mugello I think we can try to be more aggressive right from the first laps, and thus return to fight for the podium positions. The track is very nice and I think it suits well the chassis set-up of our Kalex: in this track you need a bike easy to ride in the fast chicanes, and a very stable bike in the fast corners like Arrabbiata 1 and 2, where you can make the difference. It’s also useful to count on a good traction particularly in the last sector, before the long start-finish straight. I think we can be effective under these points of view, so I’m confident that we can be fast.”
