Oliveira takes maiden Moto3™ victory in thrilling finish

Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Miguel Oliveira claimed his career first Moto3™ victory in Mugello in a dramatic drag to the line.

Oliveira rode a superb race to claim the race win ahead of Leopard Racing’s Danny Kent and Romano Fenati, as a number of riders were in with the chance of victory coming out of the final corner.

Championship leader Kent, who at one point found himself down in 14th, managed to take second place ahead of the hard charging Romano Fenati on the Sky Racing Team VR46 KTM, who completed the podium.

Mapfre Team Mahindra’s Francesco Bagnaia was fourth, missing out on the podium by just 0.003s, with his compatriots Enea Bastianini on the Gresini Racing Moto3 Honda and Ongetta-Rivacold’s Niccolo Antonelli crossing the line in fifth and sixth respectively.

Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0), Isaac Viñales (Husqvarna Factory Laglisse), Alexis Masbou (SAXOPRINT-RTG) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) completed the top ten.

Efren Vazquez and Karel Hanika crashed out after contact on the last lap while in the battle for the podium. Fabio Quartararo also saw his Championship hopes dented as he fell on lap 10, meaning he has failed to claim any points in his last two races.
