Barbera: “My feeling tells me I’ll be on the bike”

Hector Barbera is confident he will be able to race at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya after undergoing arm pump surgery.

One week ago Hector Barbera underwent successful surgery in his right forearm to solve the arm pump problems that have been hampering the rider in the last few races. Dr. Xavier Mir made the surgical intervention at the Hospital Universitari Quiron Dexeus and tomorrow the doctor will make the final check to the Avintia Racing rider at the circuit. Barbera has no doubts; he is confident to ride his Ducati from Friday. During these days the stitches have healed and he has been free of arm pump issues, Hector is ready to fight to be the best Open Class rider in the MotoGP™ World Championship this weekend in Catalunya.

Hector Barbera: “After some races with arm pump problems we decided to get under the knife. The surgery was great, I have a big cut but I had plenty of time to heal thanks to the quick response of Xavier and his crew that found time to operate me last Monday. Tomorrow I have the final check to get the okay to race, but my feeling tells me I’ll be on the bike. Barcelona is one of the most special Grand Prix for me, I won one of the most important races of my career back in 125, it was long time ago but the memory is perfect. The problem is solved and although I couldn’t train because of the stitches I feel strong thank to the good fitness program I did during the winter. The target is clear, to be fighting to win in Open Class.”
