Kent: “I’ll try to go a bit faster for tomorrow”

Danny Kent topped the combined Moto3™ times on the opening day of practice at the Grand Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya

A solid start to proceedings saw the British rider set a 1’51.637 aboard his Leopard Racing Honda, topping the combined Friday times. As he has done throughout the season, Kent set the time alone without the aid of another rider’s slipstream.

Times for Moto3™ improved due to an increase in temperature and grip, the other Grand Prix classes having each had a session ahead of FP2 for Moto3™. Kent not only used this session to set the fastest time of the weekend so far, but also to do some experimentation with the setting of his Honda.

Danny Kent: “It’s been a good start to the weekend, we can be happy as we topped the time sheets. There’s still a lot to do as the times are very close and I’ll try to go a bit faster for tomorrow after I sit down with my crew chief. Overall we can be happy with the first day. I enjoy the track here, but I’d prefer it if it was cooler it was too hot today, but I enjoy it either way. I’m English so I’m used to the rain, I like both wet and dry so I don’t mind.”
