Navarro sets the early pace in Moto3™ FP1

Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Jorge Navarro heads the first Free Practice session from Kent and Vazquez at the Catalan GP.

Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Navarro set the fastest time in the morning, a 1’51.988, on a slightly damp track after overnight rain in Montmelo. Moto3™ World Championship leader Danny Kent was just 0.106s further back in second, ahead of his Leopard Racing teammate Efren Vazquez (+0.351s) in third as the riders got the on-track action underway on Friday.

Husqvarna Factory Laglisse’s Isaac Viñales (+0.356s) was fourth, with the Ongetta-Rivacold Honda of Niccolo Antonelli (+0.547s) in fifth and Brad Binder (+0.663s) on the Red Bull KTM Ajo machine completing the provisional second row.

Jorge Martin (Mapfre Team Mahindra), Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0), Pecco Bagnaia (Mapfre Team Mahindra) and Livio Loi (RW Racing GP) rounded out the top ten.

Enea Bastianini ended his session early after a nasty looking highside on the artifical turf coming out of turn 12, but walked away unhurt. John McPhee on the SAXOPRINT RTG Honda was twelfth fastest, 1.083s behind Navarro.
