Kent: “It was difficult, all Moto3™ Qualifying is”

Second on the grid for Kent as he looks to extend lead at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

Increased wind made for a busy Moto3™ Qualifying as riders battled for clear track amongst a swarm of others looking to follow. Kent eventually managed to fight past the slower riders and set a 1’50.281 on his Leopard Racing machine, good enough for second.

Kent’s closest championship rival, Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3), starts from pole and will be eager to gain points back on the Brit. The main for Kent will be to finish ahead of the Italian to press his advantage as the season approaches the halfway point.

Danny Kent: “It was difficult, all Moto3™ Qualifying is. I’m happy to secure another front row start. We’ve put ourselves in a good position for a strong race tomorrow. Bastianini looks like he has strong pace and he’s second in the championship so that will be a big fight to extend my championship lead.”

“It’s a normal Moto3™ Qualifying. There was some headwind down the straight so that encouraged riders even more. It’s a little dangerous but there’s nothing we can do. We’ve been spoken to about it but nothing changes. The main thing tomorrow is to score more points.”
