Locatelli: “We will be looking for a new base set-up”

Locatelli: “We will be looking for a new base set-up”

2015 has been a highly successful season so far for Andrea Locatelli, the Italian eager to score points in Assen.

On four occasions so far this season Gresini Racing Team Moto3’s Andrea Locatelli has secured points, a remarkable improvement over 2014 when he failed to score at all. The Dutch GP was one of his better races in 2014, the young Italian finishing in 17th and just outside the points.

Having spent the early stages of the season battling inside the top, Locatelli is hoping to start fresh at Assen as he and his Gresini team search for a new base setting to work from. If all goes to plan Locatelli hope to continue to learn and close the gap to teammates Enea Bastianini who battles for the podium each weekend.

Andrea Locatelli: “After Barcelona I talked a lot with my technicians, analyzing my feelings during the race to better evaluate which kind of set-up we need to adopt to return to the levels of competitiveness shown at the beginning of the championship. At Assen therefore we will be looking for a new base set-up that can allow me to ride faster. I’m convinced that we will succeed and I can’t wait to get back on track for the first free practice. Assen, in addition, has very particular characteristics, and already last year I found myself at ease on that track. We can make a nice weekend!”
