Pedrosa Blog: From A Coruña to Assen

The idea for this GP is to keep improving our performance. In order to do so, we’ll need to focus on getting the right vibe from Thursday…

In his official blog for Dani Pedrosa looks ahead to the Motul TT Assen:

Hey everybody,

What an eventful week! I got the chance last Friday to hang out with all the Repsol Honda Team riders, and it was a great day.

A Coruña is a spectacular city, and I recommend that you visit it if you get the chance this summer. As you can see in the photos, the weather was nice as well, so you can imagine the great time we all had together.

We saw the Tower of Hercules up close in the morning. I never had the chance to go there before, and it’s beautiful – very impressive. Our colleagues at Repsol were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the A Coruña industrial complex, so we went to visit.

The most important part of the day was seeing the Rias Altas food bank in person. All the money raised at the event held in the afternoon went to this charity, which is made up of people whose effort and dedication improve the lives of those who need them. It was a real pleasure to be with them and see their work first hand.

In the afternoon, we participated in the event I was talking about before at the Pabellon de los Deportes de Riazor sports complex. It was amazing to see how you all rose to the occasion, filling the stadium, and showing us your support. I was already having a good time in the morning, and then the afternoon turned out to be a real show seeing Toni, Fuji, and Jaime Busto live.

I had the chance to rest during the weekend although this week we’re already in the run-up to the Dutch GP. I do it every year, but I’ll remind you again: We’re racing on Saturday! So given that everything starts a day early, we’re already preparing to set out for the Netherlands. The idea for this GP is to keep improving our performance. In order to do so, we’ll need to truly focus on getting the right vibe from Thursday onwards.

I hope to keep improving at Assen and come back next Tuesday with good news for you.

Question of the week:

If right now you had to go back in time and relive just one of your races, which one would it be? #Always26. Question from Febrero1991

In 2012, I had one of the best Grand Prix of my life. The race was wet and on the out-lap I sacrificed pole position and came into change bikes for the dry tires, as I felt the track was drying fast. I left the pit lane in last place with slick tires while the other riders left from the starting line. As the others came into change for the dry tires I was able to pass them all and I managed to win the Valencia GP. It was incredible to make a comeback like that. It’s one of the races that I always love to relive because it’s so unique.

All the best,

Dani Pedrosa.
