Bastianini: "We are still missing something"

Bastianini: 'We are still missing something'

A third podium of 2015 for Enea Bastianini last time out in Barcelona, yet the Italian still searches for his first victory.

Despite only being midway through his second Moto3™ season, Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3) has already achieved six podiums, five of which were second places, and a pole position. The highly talented Italian just missed victory in Barcelona due to a problem when shifting gears, but Assen offers him another chance at claiming the top step for the first time.

Last year’s Dutch GP came to an unfortunately early end for Bastianini who high sided in the final chicane early in the race. With a full season of experience now behind him, much of it spent battling at the front, Bastianini is prepared once again to do battle at the historic Assen circuit and claim his first finish in the Moto3™ Championship there.

Enea Bastianini: “I really like the Assen circuit: the layout of the track has several areas with slow corners compared to the tracks that we have faced recently, Mugello and Montmelò, so we need to verify the behaviour of our bike in these areas, where perhaps we are still missing something compared to our strongest rivals. However, I think that we can find a good set-up to be competitive: we can have another good race.”
