Bastianini: “I don’t make predictions for the race”

Bastianini: “I don’t make predictions for the race”

Another pole for Enea Bastianini as he still hunts the elusive first win of his fledgling career.

Saturday’s Motul TT Assen will see Gresini Racing Team Moto3’s Bastianini start from pole position for the second time this season. The Italian’s first pole came last round in Barcelona; clearly he and his Honda are able to work well together over one lap. It was a difficult start to the weekend for Bastianini, but he and his crew have rallied, as they did last round.

A first Moto3™ win still eludes him, after six podiums his best finish is still second, albeit on five occasions. Reluctant to make predictions, Bastianini is simply hoping for a good start tomorrow in order to be able to battle with Kent throughout the race. In Barcelona the Gresini rider was denied his first victory due to a problem when shifting gears in the last two corners.

Enea Bastianini: "I’m very happy, especially because the weekend didn’t so well yesterday. Today my whole team, my crew chief and my telemetry data engineer worked really well: we made the right moves on the bike and we were able to find the right set-up. Now my bike behaves well in all sections of the track. I don’t make predictions for tomorrow's race: to be again on pole position is a good start, though!”
