Kent: “I’m quite confident due to our strong race pace”

Despite being knocked off the front row, Danny Kent remains confident and ready to race on Saturday.

The Leopard Racing rider had dominated the Free Practice sessions before and was looking the favourite for pole before a flurry of fast laps dropped him down the order. Kent will start from fourth on the grid, only his third time off the front row this season. He has been one of the few riders this weekend to explore other tyre options; with potentially unknown weather conditions this could provide him yet another edge on race day.

Danny Kent: “I’m definitely not upset about anything because I think we achieved a strong starting position for tomorrow. Furthermore I’m quite confident due to our strong race pace with race tyres. We were consistently lapping within the 41s and low 42s so we can be happy with our job done so far this weekend. We get the points on race day so we’re in a good position to make a good race tomorrow anyway. I think we can be confident, I think we’re ready. The weather forecast says rain but I don’t think too much about this. In any case we’ve to wait and see with a look out of the window tomorrow morning if it is raining or not. Anyway, the situation will be the same for every rider so I’m not worried about that.”
