Pedrosa: “Last year we had a crazy race”

Sachsenring is a favourite circuit of Pedrosa, claiming four MotoGP™ victories there. He's eager to bounce back after a difficult Assen.

A heavy crash in Assen saw Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) struggle during the race, the factory Honda rider only able to achieve eighth position. Despite this the multiple MotoGP™ race winner is pleased with the continuing improvements in his arm that forced him to miss two rounds earlier in the season. In the first seven races Pedrosa has achieved just one podium, his lowest number of podiums in the first half of the season since moving to the MotoGP™ class.

Germany has always been kind to Pedrosa; alongside four MotoGP™ wins he has a total of eight podiums at the circuit. 2014’s MotoGP™ race saw the majority of the field start from pit lane as riders were forced to make last minute tyre decisions based on changing weather. The Sachsenring, much like Assen, is known for its often wet weather conditions.

Dani Pedrosa: “I’m looking forward to the next GP in Sachsenring, a track I that enjoy racing at. Last year we had a crazy race there but a good performance. The bike is starting to work better now and we hope to make some more progress in this GP, before the summer break. My arm is recovering well and my fitness is improving and that is important to be able to fight at the front. My pace is getting better and I hope to make another step this weekend."
