Kent: “We can be proud with both Friday sessions”

After dominating in both FP1 and FP2, Britain’s Danny Kent ends Friday practice pleased with the work he and his team have done.

In both FP1 and FP2 Danny Kent (Leopard Racing) was over 0.6 seconds faster than the next closest rider, again asserting himself as the one to beat in Moto3™. His competitors will have a tough time catching the experienced Brit as both he and his team continue to improve the set up of his Honda NSF250RW machine. Friday could not have gone better for Kent, he and Leopard Racing have clearly found an excellent base setting.

In both sessions he worked with the tyre they will use for the race, finding a good feeling with the bike. One area that still needs work is Kent’s gearbox which he believes could still do better. His rivals will have their work cut out if Kent can improve his times further or we could see Kent returning to his early season form of winning by huge margins.

Danny Kent: “I think we can be really happy with today and honestly speaking I don’t care too much about the gap between me and the others. But for sure we can be proud with both Friday sessions and how we started into the weekend because it’s always good to start like this. After each session, FP1 and FP2, we were 0.6 faster than anybody else but most important is that we’ve already a good feeling with the bike as well as we’re fast with our race tyre. As I said we can be happy even though there is a better work to do, mainly on my side but also for the gearbox in a few places. Furthermore as already mentioned this track is a really difficult, particularly for young riders coming the first time to here, because of its many blind corners as well due to the hilly layout. Anyway, Honda gave us a very good package and also my crew chief and me we worked many, many times on a good base setup, which really works well on many places. So from this point we’re able to be fast from the very first beginning at each race weekend.”
