Kent: “The track layout is quite difficult”

Kent: “The track layout is quite difficult”

Runaway Moto3™ championship leader Danny Kent heads to his team’s home Grand Prix as confident as ever.

The German Grand Prix is more than just another race weekend for Danny Kent (Leopard Racing); it’s also his team’s home race. This adds an extra element of pressure but the young Brit is confident he can not only handle it, but also deliver a solid result. At the halfway point of the season Kent already has a massive 57-point lead over his rivals in the championship standings.

Classically Kent has struggled somewhat at the Sachsenring, failing to finish in 2012 and again in 2013 when he raced in Moto2™. Last year however saw the Honda rider achieve a respectable fifth and no doubt he’ll be a contender once again. Since taking victory in Austin, Kent has increased his championship lead with each race and has no intention of breaking this pattern.

Danny Kent: “I really look forward to the Sachsenring which again is one of my favourite circuits, I enjoy riding there a lot. The track layout is quite difficult but I believe I can be fast there on the Honda. But foremost I can’t wait to get back on my bike and to see the team again. Our plan is as always to work hard and to try to extend our championship lead because we already reach the halfway point of the season. But beyond that it would be more nice to go into the summer break happy and full of confidence. The Sachsenring race is the team’s home Grand Prix so of course I try to sweeten them it with some more joyful moments.”
