Pedrosa Blog: Now, let’s watch the Tour!

Firstly, in this week’s post I’d like to offer my condolences to the families of Dani Rivas and Bernat Martinez…

In his latest official blog for Dani Pedrosa discusses what he has been up to so far in the summer break:

Hey everybody,

Firstly, in this week’s post I’d like to offer my condolences to the families of Dani Rivas and Bernat Martinez. I read about the news yesterday, a tragic and very sad day for the world of motorcycling. I’d also like to remember Jules Bianchi, a true example to us all.

We’re now off on holiday for just over a week.  The truth is that my holiday won’t be too long because there just isn’t enough time, but at least I am going to rest for a few days.

The idea is to relax during the first few days, and then after next weekend, I’ll start to train again and do more physical work. In reality, there isn’t much time left before our trip to Indianapolis, so we can’t afford to sit back.

During other years, the summer break has been longer, but this year, we had to travel to Misano after the German GP. It was an opportunity to improve as we head into the second half of the season.

In Misano, I think everything went well, and testing was interesting and useful. To start, the circuit was much better than before as it had been resurfaced, and a lot of the potholes were taken care of, thus helping us ride more comfortably.

As for everything else, we were able to try out a new prototype. Being able to do this at an early stage is always interesting when we start to work and study our testing as it helps us focus on the work that we still need to do.

With that being said, I haven’t been able to follow the Tour that much and definitely not as much as I would like. Now, I hope to totally get back into it. I’ve already been able to see the most interesting stages, and right now its undeniable that Froome is very strong.

I’m sure, however, that Contador still has a lot to say. Go, Alberto! I imagine that many of you are already on holiday while others still have to wait until August. For those of you on holiday, enjoy it as much as you can, and for those of you who aren’t, patience, good things come to those who wait. Then, it will all be worth it!

As for me, I’m now going to take a few weeks off, but I will write to you again before my trip to Indianapolis. We’ll stay in touch through here.

Question of the week:
My question is: Does your bike have a name? Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts! Question from Rebecca26

Hey Rebecca26,

Of course it does, “RC213V”. Actually, I know what you’re talking about, you’re asking if I’ve given it a special name or call it something different. Well, it’s simpler than you might think, I call them “1” and “2” to tell them apart.

Best wishes,

MotoGP, 2015, Dani Pedrosa, Repsol Honda Team
