Marquez: “The track has changed a little bit”

The last few rounds have seen Marquez make steady progress with his Moto2™ machine, after three weeks off he’s eager to return.

Indianapolis saw Marquez secure his first ever World Championship podium back in 2013. Many have been underwhelmed by Alex Marquez’s (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing) rookie Moto2™ campaign, but he has only failed to score on two occasions. Consistency has always been one of Marquez’s strong points, focusing on a steady flow of points and results to build his confidence on the bike.

Aside from his podium in 2013, Marquez has not finished inside the top five at Indianapolis. 2015 has been all about learning for Marquez and a return to the points after failing to score in Germany will be the Spaniard’s main aim. With 30 Championship points he currently sits 18th in the standings, just two points behind Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia)

Alex Marquez: “Indianapolis is where I secured my first World Championship podium, so it’s a special track for me. The track has changed a little bit, but it’s still one that I like. I’m really motivated to get back to racing after the break. I come back refreshed, with more power to try and improve my performance in the second half of the season. We are going in the right direction with the bike, so we just need to work a little bit more if I am to achieve my aim of finishing on the podium before the year is out.”
