Rabat: “I feel strong, but we will see”

Rabat: “I feel strong, but we will see”

Three weeks off from racing have given Rabat time to recover from his collarbone break, now he’s ready to fight back.

The German GP ended in disaster from Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) as Franco Morbidelli (Italtrans Racing) took the Spaniard down at the final corner. Both had been in contention for the podium, but Rabat’s fairy tale comeback from his training accident was not to be. After this DNF Rabat sits 64 points behind Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) in the standings.

Indianapolis holds fond memories for Rabat who took his first Moto2™ podium there in 2011. Since then the American track has seen Rabat on the podium just once more, when he won in 2013. With Indianapolis kicking off the second half of the season reducing the gap to Zarco is Rabat’s main focus as he looks to defend his championship crown.

Tito Rabat: “We head to Indianapolis after three weeks of relaxing on holiday, but we must see how is the rhythm and the collarbone.  I have been training over the break and I feel strong, but we will see. My approach is the same; focus on what we need to do in Indianapolis, work with the team to make sure we have the most competitive package for the race and then try to finish as close to the front as possible.”
