Marquez: “I went to Ibiza with some friends”

A revitalized Marquez is ready to bring his best to the Brickyard, a track where he has won four times.

The three week mid-season summer break was a relaxing affair for Marquez who took some much needed time off after a stressful 2015. Although the break did not last long as he was soon back to training and preparing for the coming races. Kicking off the second half of the season is Indianapolis, a track which first joined the MotoGP™ World Championship in 2008 and seen Repsol Honda dominate the 4.170km long track.

Across his Moto2™ and MotoGP™ career Marquez has won for the last four years, the Spaniard yet to be beaten on American soil since stepping up to the premier class. Having won the last round in Germany, Marquez is now seeking another win as he tries to challenge for the title. Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) leads the world standings with 179 points, whilst Marquez only has 114. The gap is vast but few thought Marquez could win the opening ten races in 2014.

Marc Marquez: "It’s been great to have some time off to recuperate and recharge the batteries ready for the second half of the season. After the Misano test I went to Ibiza with some friends for a week which was fantastic, and much needed! Then we resumed our training schedule in order to prepare for the coming races. Now we are on our way to America for the Indianapolis GP. I love racing on American soil and appreciate the enthusiasm of all the fans. I like the Indy track it can be tricky with the changes in asphalt but as always we will work hard from Friday, and get back into our rhythm as quickly as possible!"
