Dovizioso: “We still have a few limits”

After several tough rounds Dovizioso has begun to bounce back at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.

It was a positive start to the Indianapolis weekend for Ducati Team rider Andrea Dovizioso, third in both sessions. Free Practice one was mostly used to assess the track condition, Indy notorious for a lack of grip on Friday. Indianapolis has classically been a strong track for the Italian, finishing in the top five on four occasions including a MotoGP™ in 2012.

Free Practice 2 saw track conditions improve and temperatures rise. In these conditions Dovizioso was able to produce a 1’33.155, 0.295s slower than Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) who led the day. This time was almost 0.7s quicker than the Ducati rider’s FP1 time, showing that he and the GP15 are heading in the right direction

Andrea Dovizioso: “I am quite pleased with the feeling today with my Desmosedici GP15. The base setting is good, but we still have a few limits and above all an annoying vibration at the front. There are various points of the track where I am unable to push as hard as I would like and on my fastest lap I also risked crashing by almost losing the front. We will have to work hard to improve our pace, especially because the top two are still some way ahead.”
