Redding: “I'm a bit lost and more than a little annoyed”

Redding: “I'm a bit lost and more than a little annoyed”

Another tough day for Redding as he starts on the fifth row for the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.

A tight battle in Q1 saw Scott Redding (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing) narrowly miss out on advancing to Q2. A time of 1’21.632 had Redding only 0.066s from a top two spot and a potential top 12 start. The Indianapolis GP had gotten off to a positive start with a top ten result for the Brit on Friday, but Qualifying has seen him struggle with grip.

As always there is still hope, FP4 saw Redding finish in a credible 13th. New tyres are currently the biggest hurdle for the Brit to overcome, his pace on used tyres steady and should allow him to fight with the other satellite machines. It was a long summer break for Redding who crashed on the first lap of the German GP and he’s keen to make amends on Sunday.

Scott Redding: “This morning wasn't too bad but I was struggling a bit on corner entry. We thought that we had been going the right way with setup but, today, everything seems to be doing something, and not in a good way. I've less front grip, I’m struggling with the rear and I'm a bit lost and more than a little annoyed at this moment. The race pace isn't too bad but the biggest problem I've got at the moment is with the new tyre."
