Marquez: “This isn’t one of my favourite tracks”

Marquez: “This isn’t one of my favourite tracks”

Back to back wins for Marquez who now heads to the bwin Grand Prix České republiky, a track he has struggled at.

2014 saw Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) take victory at the first ten races, never once stepping off the top step of the podium. This streak was unfortunately brought to an end at Brno, Marquez not even managing the podium. The Repsol Honda rider has had mixed results at the Czech GP, winning in 2013 and 2013, but achieving only one other podium during his career there.

After his win in Indianapolis Marquez has now moved to third in the MotoGP™ World Championship as he attempts to defend his crown. After the Czech GP there will be a one-day test to allow the MotoGP™ riders and teams to explore setting options the tight time schedule of a usual Grand Prix weekend entails. Marquez is currently on the 2014 frame with 2015 engine and suspension; an extra test day will no doubt allow Honda to further explore the nuances of the combination.

Marc Marquez: “It was a tough race in Indianapolis, very demanding, but I’m really happy to have taken two consecutive wins! We were able to enjoy the victory on Sunday night and now we are already on our way to Brno for the next race. This isn’t one of my favourite tracks and I’ve had mixed results here in the past but we arrive there with good momentum and we will work hard to be ready for a battle!"
