The 2015 season has seen Iannone arrive as one of the most consistent riders on the MotoGP™ grid.
After a hard fought Indianapolis Grand Prix Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) and the rest of the MotoGP™ paddock head straight for the bwin Grand Prix České republiky. A strong weekend saw Iannone take a valuable fifth place finish on his GP15 Ducati, further cementing his fourth place in the World Championship table. With129 points Iannone is just ten behind Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) and a solid 35 ahead of teammate Andrea Dovizioso.
From his nine previous starts at the Brno circuit, Iannone has managed three podiums including a win in the Moto2™ class during 2011. Since stepping up to the premier class Iannone has a best finish of fifth, which he achieved last year having started from third on the grid. The GP15 is still an unknown quantity at many tacks, the post race test will no doubt benefit Ducati greatly as they seek to further understand the new bike.
Andrea Iannone: “In general I like every circuit, but Brno is a really beautiful track and I am happy to race here on Sunday, even though at this moment it is difficult to know what to expect from the Czech race. On paper this should be a more favourable track for the GP15, but the last four races have been rather complicated for us and so me and the team will have to work hard to improve the situation. However, we are looking forward with optimism to this weekend and we hope that we can once again get back to fighting with the frontrunners again here at Brno.”
