Rabat: “For Brno I feel strong”

Rabat: “For Brno I feel strong”

A late mistake saw Rabat just miss the podium last time out, he’s out to make amends at the bwin Grand Prix České republiky.

The main aim for Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing) is to reclaim second in the Moto2™ World Championship at the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic this weekend. Brno has seen Rabat claim two podiums in the past, including a win last year on his way to the Moto2™ crown. Fortunately for Rabat, he is just three points behind Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) in the standings, an achievable goal in just one race.

Conditions are looking extremely hot for the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, but some weather forecasts are predicting thunderstorms for race day. Indianapolis showed the extent to which weather can affect a race and Rabat is eager to avoid mixed conditions, hoping for either a fully wet or full race. With Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) a distant 71 points ahead, retaining his title is looking increasingly difficult for Rabat.

Tito Rabat: “We were strong in Indianapolis, but the rain on Sunday made a big change to the track conditions and we had to make a lot of changes to the set up of the bike for the race. For Brno I feel strong, I feel good, but the weather could play a big part once again this weekend. Fully wet or fully dry is good while mixed wet and dry conditions is not good for anyone, but we will see. My feeling is good with the bike and with the team, who’ve worked hard this season, so I hope to be up their fighting for the win in Brno.”
