Moto2™ World Championship leader Johann Zarco sets the fastest time during Free Practice 1 to top the session.

Ajo Motorsports championship leader Johann Zarco took advantage of the ideal conditions (42˚C) at the Autodromo Brno to set a 2’03.082 and top Friday’s first Free Practice session.

Jonas Folger on the AGR Team Kalex finished 0.338s further back in second, with Forward Racing’s Simone Corsi (+0.341s) completing the provisional front row on his teams return to action after missing the Indianapolis GP due to financial issues.

Reigning Moto2™ champion Tito Rabat (+0.461s) on the EG 0,0 Marc VDS Kalex was in fourth, ahead of Derendinger Racing Interwetten’s Thomas Luthi (+0.487s) in fifth and Sam Lowes (+0.518s) on the Speed Up Racing bike in sixth.

Paginas Amarillas HP40’s Alex Rins, race winner last time out at the Indianapolis GP, was seventh with Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP), Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten) and Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) completing the top ten.

Ricky Cardus was making his debut for the JPMoto Malaysia team as a permanent replacement for Ratthapark Wilairot, but did not complete a lap during the session as he suffered from technical issues.
