A guide to the Czech GP Moto2™ race

A guide to the Czech GP Moto2™ race

All of the information you need to impress your friends ahead of the bwin Grand Prix České republiky.

The 20-lap race at the Automotodrom Brno is due to start at 12:20 local time:

  • Johann Zarco starts from pole for the fifth time this year.  Zarco is going for his tenth successive top three finish, which would be a new record for most successive podium finishes in the Moto2™ class.

  • Last year’s Moto2™ winner at Brno, Tito Rabat, starts from second place on the grid – his ninth front row start of the year.

  • First time Moto2™ winner one week ago, Alex Rins, starts from third place on the grid.  After his win at Indianapolis, Rins could become the second youngest rider after Marc Marquez to take back-to-back Moto2™ victories.

  • Sandro Cortese heads the second row of the grid, which equals his best qualifying result of the year that he achieved at the opening round of 2015 in Qatar. Cortese finished third last year at Brno – his only podium since moving up to the Moto2™ class.

  • Tom Luthi, the winner of the 125cc GP at Brno ten years ago, starts from the fifth place on the grid.

  • In sixth place on the grid is Dominique Aegerter – just the third time this year that he has been on one of the front two rows.

  • Starting from seventh place on the grid is Alex Marquez, which is his best qualifying result so far in his rookie season in the Moto2™ class.
