Rabat: “We still need to find a little more”

An early mistake ends Rabat’s hopes of victory at the bwin Grand Prix České republiky, but recovers to second.

For the sixth time in 2015 Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing) took to the podium in the Moto2™ World Championship. Despite starting on the front row, a small mistake in the opening laps ended Rabat’s hopes of challenging for victory, the Spaniard unable to catch Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) after the Frenchman took the lead. The closing stages of the race also saw a strong challenge from Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40), which Rabat was just able to fend off.

Second place in the race sees Rabat re-take second in the championship, now with 145 points. Impressive rookie Alex Rins is just one point behind and no doubt their battle will continue to rage. Frenchman Zarco sits atop the standings with 224 points, an almost impossible gap to close. The Moto2™ field now enjoy a one week break before the British Grand Prix.

Tito Rabat: “This weekend has been a good one for us, as we’ve improved the bike and my feeling with it a lot, but we still need to find a little more, especially on corner entry, if we are to be in a position to fight for the win once again. We’re close, so we need to continue working, but it’s good to come back to the podium again here at Brno, after such a good job from the team both here and in Indianapolis.”
