Lowes: “We made good result out of a bad weekend”

Sam Lowes fought his way from 13th on the grid to fifth during the bwin Grand Prix České republiky after a nightmare weekend.

The British rider suffered from a technical issue in Qualifying that saw him miss the majority of the session. Starting from 13th on the grid he valiantly worked his way through the extremely evenly matched and competitive Moto2™ field during the race, eventually making up 8 places to cross the line in 5th and take 11 vital Championship points. Up next is Lowes’ home race the Octo British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 30th August.

Sam Lowes: “It was a very tough weekend. We were very unlucky to qualify down the grid, but the race was good and I had lots of fun battling with the other guys and making many overtakes. I pushed hard but in the last few laps I struggled with the front tyre so wasn't able to catch the front group, but in the middle of the race my pace was as fast as leaders even faster on some laps! So we did a good job and made good result out of a bad weekend. I can't wait for my home race next, I need to win.”
