Redding: “I was struggling to keep the speed”

The bwin Grand Prix České republiky saw Redding battle through to 12th in yet another difficult race.

Overnight rain left the Brno track in a much cooler condition than throughout the weekend, many MotoGP™ riders had hoped this would improve the track condition significantly. Unfortunately for Scott Redding (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Racing) the cooler conditions didn’t help and he once again battled with confidence on the RC213V. Yonny Hernandez (Octo Pramac Racing) and Redding battled for much of the race, the Brit thought he had 11th secured but made a small mistake towards the end allowing the Colombian through.

The MotoGP™ World Championship now has a week break before heading to Silverstone, Redding’s home round. The British GP has seen Redding take two wins and two podiums in the Moto2™ and 125cc classes. Last year, aboard the Open Honda, the British rider managed a top ten finish in the race. Redding will no doubt be aiming to improve this result in 2015 now he is on the full factory Honda and is determined not to give up despite recent hardships.

Scott Redding: “It was another difficult weekend and in the race I was struggling to keep the speed. I feel so on the limit I don’t know where to push to find more time. The group in front can pull away easily and although it was another tough race I tried my best. I passed Yonny on the penultimate lap but made a mistake and he got back through. The longer we go without any results the more frustrating it is getting, My home race Silverstone is next and hopefully my previous success there, and a big home crowd can spur me on. We are certainly not going to give up.”
