Zarco: “I'm not at all disappointed with third place'

Johann Zarco remains positive despite missing out on pole at the Octo British Grand Prix.

Ever the optimist, Ajo Motorsport’s Johann Zarco was content with qualifying in third for Sunday’s British GP. The Frenchman has shown solid pace throughout the weekend, only slowed by a crash that left him somewhat stiff come the Qualifying session. With a significant lead in the Moto2™ World Championship, Zarco’s attention has turned from pushing to maintain, the Kalex mounted rider ready to settle for second on Sunday if need be.

Close times in all the practice sessions are suggesting another classic Moto2™ race, Silverstone producing several memorable last lap battles in years prior. The Ajo team have adapted well to the Moto2™ and their stability and knowledge has allowed Zarco to become the title challenger he currently is. With utmost faith the team, Zarco is confident they will be able to find more improvements in Warm Up on Sunday to help battle for victory.

Johann Zarco: “I'm not at all disappointed with third place. In fact, I have to be happy because after the fall I had yesterday it could have been much worse. The race is important and I think starting from the third position is a positive and the first corner is a right. Our times were very fast and we are pleased with how we've improved. I trust the team's work and hope we will be able to improve some small details this afternoon that will help us even more to feel comfortable and to fight for the victory tomorrow."
