Antonelli: “In the race I risked a lot”

Niccolo Antonelli followed up his race win at Brno with a third place finish at the Octo British Grand Prix.

The Ongetta-Rivacold rider was forced to start the race from 18th after a poor qualifying, but quickly made up places during the race. The Italian put on a masterful display of riding in the wet to claim his second Moto3™ podium, eventually crossing the line 13.189s behind winner Danny Kent.

Niccolo Antonelli: “I try to catch Jakub but he was fast and I had to risk too much. In the race I risked a lot. The last lap I see Bagnaia maybe crash, I don’t know. I see Jakub, but Jakub was too difficult to pass and I settled for third. I’m really happy as I did a lot of mistakes in Qualifying and started in 18th. It’s perfect for me!”
