Tulovic takes charge of opening day proceedings

A 1:50.808 in FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup FP2 sees Tech3 E-Racing’s Lukas Tulovic climb to the top of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya Day 1 combined standings, the German edging out Jordi Torres (Pons Racing 40) by 0.049s. Electric class rookie Yonny Hernandez (Octo Pramac MotoE) claims an impressive P3 on Friday.

It was the first time MotoE™ had hit the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and at the end of Day 1’s play, there was only a second covering the top 12 riders. FP1 pacesetter Eric Granado (One Energy Racing) slipped to P4 in FP2, the Brazilian finishes 0.408s behind Tulovic, with rookie Fermin Aldeguer (Openbank Aspar Team) – fresh from a debut points scoring Moto2™ at Mugello – cementing a top five.

In FP2, Andrea Mantovani (Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE) set the new all-time MotoE™ speed record – a whopping 262.7 km/h down the front straight, beating Dominique Aegerter’s (Dynavolt Intact GP) 262.1 km/h effort in FP1.
