Kent stamps authority on Moto3™ FP3

Kent stamps authority on Moto3™ FP3

Danny Kent smashes the Pole Record at Misano to top FP3 ahead of an impressive Brad Binder and Niccolo Antonelli.

Leopard Racing’s Kent smashed Jonas Folger’s 2013 Pole Record by over half a second to top the session with a 1’42.209. In the cooler conditions (Track temp 20˚C) of the morning it was Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Binder who impressed by being the first to break the record with 18 minutes to go, as he seemed to gel with the new KTM chassis and swingarm.

Kent responded with just seconds left to beat Binder into second by just 0.026s, with Niccolo Antonelli on the Ongetta-Rivacold Honda in third (+0.173s). Sky Racing Team VR46’s Romano Fenati (+0.395s) was fourth ahead of Jorge Martin (+0.536s) on the leading Mapfre Team Mahindra machine and Gresini Racing Team Moto3’s Enea Bastianini (+0.567s).

Phillip Oettl (Schedl GP Racing), Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Efren Vazquez (Leopard Racing) and Juanfran Guevara (Mapfre Team Mahindra) completed the top ten.

Scotsman John McPhee (SAXOPRINT RTG) was in fifteenth, while Estrella Galicia 0,0 teammates Jorge Navarro and Fabio Quartararo have been declared unfit after they both crashed on Friday and will miss the rest of the weekend.
